Saint Patrick's Day

Saint Patrick's Day

All ye lads and lasses, gather 'round. Fer yer luck may be changin'.

Saint Patrick's Day is nearly upon us and we have a few tasks for ye. In the catalog, we have released the Green Iced furniture. Along with the Lodge furni, Green Iced should make fer some splendid pubs, taverns and cozy inns.

A Brief History Lesson

Saint Patrick's Day is celebrated worldwide by Irish people and increasingly by non-Irish people (usually in Australia, North America and Ireland) as well. Celebrations are generally themed around all things Irish and, by association, the color green. Corned beef and cabbage is the most common meal eaten in the United States for St. Patrick's Day, even though historically, corned beef and cabbage is an American (rather than a traditionally Irish) meal.

Pubs, Taverns & Inns

Originally called taverns, a public house (pub) is an establishment which serves drinks and food, usually in a comfortable setting with music, sometimes live. Pubs originated in English-speaking countries, particularly in the United Kingdom and Ireland and are now found globally. Traditionally, a pub which offers lodging may be called an inn or (more recently) hotel in the UK.

Pub Crawling

Pub crawls focus on the social aspect of meeting new friends and being introduced to new places.

Now that you've had yer history lesson, let's say we move on to the rest of the competition. Build yer pub, tavern or inn and put them on the St. Paddy's Day floor in whichever category ye please. And don't forget, every great establishment has fun and festive music.

To celebrate St. Paddy's Day on Monday, the 17th of March we'll be pub crawling starting in ye ole Finnegan's Pub. From there, we'll begin the pub crawl and visit random Habbos' Pubs, Taverns & Inns. So fill your dwellings with good friends and merry music. We may be stopping by your place!

+ 10 Lucky Random Habbos will receive the good fortune of a pot o' gold (aka a sack of coins).

In the spirit of St. Paddy's Day, speak like a traditional Irishman (or woman) and wear ye best green clothes. You may avoid the dreaded virtual *pinch*.

Share the spirit of Saint Patrick by decorating your home page with some good luck stickers located in the web catalog. Also, join the St. Paddy's Day Group and wear your badge proudly.

Happy Saint Patrick's Day!
