Singapore is home to amazing wildlife from mynah birds to squirrels, hornbills to reticulated pythons, there's a whole secret world out there just waiting to be discovered. But as these animals deal with increasingly less space as condominiums are developed and roads paved, many of them find themselves having to live near people. These animals usually find themselves trapped in houses, or in danger of getting run over by lorries and cars. To help these animals, ACRES has a wildlife rescue service that's active 24/7, all year round.
Many of these animals are also now viewed as pests by many homeowners since animals have gotten used to being fed by humans, they think that everyone will give them food. But it is possible to live in harmony with Singapore's wildlife, and in today's Infobus session, A
CRES (Animal Concerns Research and Education Society) will be talking about how to help Singapore's wildlife survive and flourish in the next generation. So stop by
the Infobus today, 8 Feb 2011, from 1730h to 1930h and let's talk about helping out our friendly neighbourhood animals.
