We're extremely excited about everyone being able to play Habbo 2020 and enjoying the improvements we've made to the game. To ensure it's as polished as possible when it launches, we're getting help from selected members of our dedicated community to run a closed beta testing phase. This will help us to ensure that the game is as bug-free and as optimised as possible when it launches later this year.
This beta testing phase marks only the beginning of a period of rejuvenation and revitalisation of our precious hotel!
IMPORTANT: Habbo 2020 is not finished and its development is ongoing. Many features are still missing! Due to time constraints we have had to prioritise certain features in order to have a playable version of Habbo ready before the removal of support for Flash on major browsers.
We'll be giving roughly 100 selected Habbos access to the beta. We've selected people that are very familiar with Habbo, proven themselves to be capable of working with us in the past and are spread across all nine of our different language communities.
While only a small group of Habbos will be given access to the beta, all of you will have the chance to play Habbo 2020 later when we do the full release!
To a lot of Habbos, a fair amount has changed. While we've retained the vast majority of the core features that make Habbo what it is, like building, chatting and making friends, some things have changed and will look and feel quite different.
We're fully aware that some aspects of Habbo 2020 won't be popular with some members of the community. Habbo is an old game and it hasn't changed much in its lifetime. To make it competitive with other games (and therefore sustainable for the next generation of Habbos to enjoy), we needed to modernise it.
Our ancient trading system, in particular, wasn't helping to maintain a healthy, balanced economy. We felt that Habbo 2020 presented the perfect opportunity to make the game more resistant to things like account hacking and fraud, but also to make it more fun and fairer to new Habbos.
