The future of Habbo and NFTs

Over the past 18 months or so, our NFT project has both grown significantly and become an integral part of Habbo. Since 2021 we’ve seen that this non-intrusive, optional technology is a fun and beneficial addition for many Habbos. It’s here to stay, and we need to adjust the way we do things to reflect that!

To ensure we’re able to provide a cohesive, clear experience for our players, we’re making some changes to how we treat Habbo and the NFT project we’ve built 👇

1. Habbo and the NFT project will be treated as one product, internally and externally. Essentially, our NFTs are a type of digital item our players can collect, use and trade. In the same way, Habbo X is a different take on Habbo as it exists currently, making use of cutting edge technology to enhance the overall player experience.
2. The Habbo and Habbo NFT teams are being integrated and streamlined. This should help us to plan and execute much more effectively for Habbo’s future as a whole, with all the benefits NFTs and web3 technology brings.
3. Habbo will have one, shared roadmap. Instead of having two separate roadmaps, we’ll have one cohesive version for all Habbo players. Now that we’ve started to integrate the two teams, we can start to make progress on this. We will share this as soon as we can.

The process of integrating and merging the two teams has begun. As well as sharing a shared Habbo roadmap further down the line, we’ll be keeping you up to date about how other aspects of our events, marketing and communication will change over the coming weeks and months.
